New Exercise TV Trainer!

20 Jan 2010 In: TV & Local Appearances

I’m so excited to be one of Exercise TV’s newest trainers! I flew out to LA last week to film my videos. My workouts include: “Yoga Bootcamp”, “Ab Bootcamp”, “Lean Legs Beginners”, “Lean Legs Advanced” and “Lean Legs – Total Lower Body Makeover”! I had the most amazing experience and it went better than I could have expected. The day started around 10:30am when me and Nancy (my “tech”) arrived at the studio. We were greeted with snacks and coffee and shown to my dressing room that had a huge selection of clothes for me to pick for my videos (I brought some too). 025

I found out that Jillian Michaels had just been there a few days before and used the same studio and background! I even saw her shoes in the dressing room! cool, huh?

It’s January 2010 and that means it’s time to get HEALTHY! So..everybody head to TACO BELL!!! What?! Well, it seems like this January there are SO many choices for weight loss plans, meal programs  and “easy” ways to lose weight. Do you need to be on a “system” or have meals prepared by someone else to lose weight? Checkout my take below…

What is the TRX?

10 Jan 2010 In: TV & Local Appearances, Videos

Checkout my workout with the girls at Fit Athletic Club as we demo some cool moves on the TRX suspension trainer! It really is a great workout!

I was back on with Sibila yesterday to answer questions about joining a bootcamp and what you should expect. I also gave a sample bootcamp workout that you can do on your own (see below)!

Cari Shoemate Bootcamp Workout for Sibila Challenge

HOUSTON – Fitness trainer Cari Shoemate presents an example of a bootcamp-style workout to accelerate exercise plans for people taking part in the Sibila Challenge.

Instructions:

– Warmup for between 2 and 3 minutes with a walk, jog or jumping jacks

– Do 20 squats with a shoulder press or squat jumps for an advanced movement

– Do 10 pushups and 10 sets of mountain climbers

– Do 10 reverse lunges with a knee-up (for the abdominals) on each leg

– Do 10 tricep dips on the floor

– Do 5 Superman abs with “Superman” for the back and abdominal crunches

– Repeat the above five steps two times for 20 total minutes total

If there is time left over from the workout, Shoemate recommends jumping rope or doing jumping jacks for an added calorie burn.

Shoemate recommends this workout two or three times a week and on the alternate days doing a 20-minute run or walk/run for maximum results.

Hi Guys! I’ll be teaching a free class this Friday 1/8 at the Lucy store in Highland Village from 6-7pm. The class will be a toning/sculpting class using your own body…so no weights required! Just bring a mat and some water. Hope to see you there!
